Yes, that's a BMW 650 engine! I was approached by a guy by the name of Chris Dresch who wanted me to build a replica of a 1930 Dresch. It all started from 1x2 box tubing and ended up a one off custom frame. The frontend will be a handmade item also along with all the other parts that it will take to finish this one of a kind build. There's still alot of work ahead of us, so check back often as we continue to finish this build!

Dresch Motorcycle - Tim Bradham's Chassis Works

Here is something that is quite interesting and a damn amazing project in the works. Tim is a custom builder, fabricator and hot rod enthusiast generally specializing in four wheeled construction. Being an individual that continually seeks out new challenges, a customer walked in one day, aptly named Dresch and asked if he could build a vintage Dresch inspired bike based on the lesser known French Motorcycle company that operated from 1923 to 1948. Dresch's motorcycles ranged from 98cc single-cylinder machines to 750cc four-cylinder models.






Tim's clients Dresch is powered by a single cylinder BMW donor bike for the engine and wheels. This bike is being built from scratch and will be unlike anything else out there. Hell, isn't that the gist of a custom build, instead of the general notion of assembly from a catalog. Congrats are in order to figuring out this visual puzzle with no original parts to scope out, no concrete numbers on frame specs and nothing but a donor bike and an idea.

The video is finally done and has gone through all the edits to make this one hell of an epic showing. We cannot thank Mike Ashcraft and Thumbin' Sleazoid Cinema enough for their hardwork on the project. Without their entire team on board to setup locations, filming, story boards, editing and a litany of other production aspects the video would have never come to fruition. We are proud as a peacock on this video and in 2011 the Green Lady Killers are about to make their mark on the indie music scene.

The Man behind Atomic Paint by TBC!!


His name is Adam Oldham or "The Bomb" by many. Adam is a straight forward kinda of guy who has many talents under is belt. He's been to L.A. and worked on props for the movies like Jack Ass!!
Adam as always been a big supporter of TBC, so when he came back to N.C. he came in to take care of the front office, doing all the art and web design for the shop. About a year ago we came accross another shop, being that it had a professional paint booth. Adam was game in getting back into painting. From bike paint to full car restorations he has tackled it all. So saying that Adam is a asset to the name Atomic Paint/TBC, well he is the man behind the mask!



WhiteWall Wednesday!!!

Here we are again with a badass hot rod from our brothers over at Road Devils CC Devil’s Brigade. This is Jefe’s 1930 Ford 5 Window Coupe “Dimes”. They are building it for Viva Las Vegas 14. Jefe and the Devil’s Brigade will be driving out to Vegas from North Carolina and filming a documentary during the trip (Read about it here.) They will be raising money for the Task Force Dagger Foundation for combat wounded soldiers and their families. This is really awesome and we are going to support them any way we can. These pics were provided to us and shot by Jefe.

My name is Elwood and I am an alcoholic and part time everything guy, but my passion is to learn how to make a car go fast and straight, until the road courses come that is.  I have learned different things over the years from some really great people I call "Brothers."  I don’t have the space nor the time to go into them all now, but check back here from time to time and you can see where in the world I am and who are some great friends I meet along the way.

Today I will talk about some of my brothers in the Road Devils Car Club up here in Harrisburg, PA.  I just happened to have a gig out here and had the pleasure of seeing how guys with the same mind set, same passions as I do and most people reading this blog.  I got to hang out and take some pics and try some apple pie moonshine.  So to my brothers Mike, Nico, Brad and Joel, It was my honor and pleasure meeting you all.  Mike has a 7 story building that truly is a one stop shop.  We did a tour of it and there was history all over the place. To see just the fabrication done for the wood burning stove was amazing.  I haven’t started taking good pics yet but I will get better over time.  We left his shop and headed across the river to brad’s house and his garage.  As we sat and talked about the projects they had and I got to add my 2 cents in about all the things I have learned on 'C' notching, 'Z'-ing frames and pie cutting for chop jobs, etc.  I was feeling pretty good, and then I realized I was over a 12 pack in and I had to brief a lot of important people the next day!  It is incredible how good it is to sit around and meet with guys the first time and how much everyone has in common and see that their lifestyles are not that much different from the rest of us. (even if they are Yankees!)

I built this car some years ago for Tim Lyons. When things got rough for Tim, he had to make that decision that none of us want to make which was to sell the car. John Macdonald picked the car up and installed his engine combo. and went racing. It took awhile for the tune of 2100 hp to be applied to the 28x10.5 tires, but crew chief Kim Mapes managed to make it happen. Running a best of 7.28 in the 1/4 and 194 to 197 mph speeds, they put themselves on top to be the ones to beat!
John had a great 2010 season. With help from crew chief Kim Mapes, they went down the last race in a attempt to win the championship. Falling short of 10 points, and fighting head issues he took 2nd for the NMRA season.
With the PRI show being good for picking up some sponsors. John and Kim are already putting a new engine combo together. TBC will be helping out in trying to make the 2011 a championship season!!

Robert Morris / TBC '68 Pro Mod Camaro

After helping out Robert Morris with his 10.5 Outlaw Mustang which ran 4.90's 1/8 mile. Robert came down and talked to us about building him a new car. His choice was a '68 Camaro. Being a Tim McAmis dealer, we ordered Robert a body and chassis kit (unwelded). After having a very successful 2010 test/race season with running a best of 1.03 60 ft and a 4.58 1/8 mile run on one stage. Robert wanted to change up the 2011 season up with a new combo, the BBC will sport a 14-71 blower set-up with a fresh bottom end. We will have the Camaro back soon to switch over for the Blower set-up, and hope to be testing within weeks to come!

Ralph's 25.1 Camaro

Ralph has become a good friend to TBC, after building a '68 Camaro Pro Mod for Robert of "Auto Tech" here in town. He really liked the quality and craftsmanship of the Pro Mod. After sitting down with Ralph he decided to let us loose on a complete rebuild. We cut everything out and started building a state of the art bullet-proof 25.1 chassis able to withstand the BBC combo. TBC is working hard on completing this build to get Ralph back on the track for 2011.

By now, most of you know about the military chapter of the Road Devils CC – The Devil’s Brigade. Right now, we’re in the middle of planning our biggest event thus far – and we really need your help.

Our chapter is in the process of planning a trip from Fort Bragg North Carolina (located near Fayetteville NC,) to Las Vegas, Nevada. During this trip, our group of combat veterans is seeking to both raise awareness for Combat Wounded Veterans’ charities, as well as film a one-of-a-kind documentary that illustrates the history of one of the world’s most respected Car Clubs. We’re writing you today to seek your assistance in making our dream possible, and we hope that we can count on you to help support our journey.

The Road Devils Car Club are a pre-1965 American hot rod car club, founded in 1946 in California by military servicemen coming back from the war and looking for an escape into the thrills of cars and speed. Since their inception, the Road Devils have been at the forefront of the hot rod subculture, building customs, hot rods, and race cars that are winners at shows ranging from mom and pop cruise-ins to events as big as Autorama. From Texas to Brunei, Delaware to Germany, the Road Devils spread the gospel of brotherhood, innovation, and pure American hot-rodding across the world.

In 2009 the Road Devils returned to the roots of American Hot Rodding by standing up the Devil’s Brigade Chapter. The Devil’s Brigade are a unique invention in the world of car clubs, as we are a military only chapter of the club. With members of this club coming from elite units such as the US Army Special Forces and Rangers, and the United States Marine Corps, it seemed fitting that they would derive their name from the famed commando unit of World War II, the First Special Service force, nee the Devil’s Brigade.

The Devil’s Brigade have seen a near constant cycle of combat deployments, and at any time over 50% of the chapter is deployed around the world. While they are gone, their brothers in the Club help out, ensuring that when they’re gone, their hot rods and families are taken care of.
Even in the face of this wartime commitment, the Road Devils Car Club are still dedicated to their love of hot rodding. That’s why this year, the Devil’s Brigade will be making the trip to the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender in April of 2011.

The Devil’s Brigade will be taking 5 custom built hotrods from Fayetteville, North Carolina to Las Vegas, Nevada. The journey will start at our home base in Fayetteville, where the chapter will build from the ground up a 1930 roadster in a weeks time at Tim Bradham's Chassis Works; and then it will make it’s maiden voyage to Atlanta, GA. From there, the club will rumble over to Memphis, TN, where we will pay our respects at Graceland, hear the music at Beale Street and Sun Studios, and get ready for the next leg of our trip.

The following day, the five will make their way from Memphis to Oklahoma City, where the club will meet with more vehicles from the Texas and Oklahoma chapters of the Road Devils, and tighten up the bolts before making their next run to Albuquerque New Mexico, picking up even more hot rods on the way…

The final leg of the journey will take the club from NM to Las Vegas Nevada, where the club will assist in running the world’s most impressive pre-1963 car show; and will meet up with Road Devil’s from all over the world. The Road Devil’s will help judge the show, Jerry Lee Lewis will perform, and car clubs from all over the United States and the world will see firsthand what the Road Devils are about.

The Road Devils will return to Fayetteville the same way, stopping at various Americana locations on the way home, and paying our respects at various historic sites, and having a taste of home that is well deserved after so many of our members multiple overseas tours.
As a way of paying back our brothers in arms, and as a tribute to our fallen and wounded comrades, the Devil’s Brigade will be using this trip as an opportunity to capture our club’s story on film. We will be producing a DVD documentary about the Devil’s Brigade that will show how we mix the rigors of a military life with the lifestyle of being in a car club. We’ll show what it takes to get hot rods built, when you could be returning to war at the drop of a hat. We’ll show a journey across the United States being taken by a club that’s defended its freedom in ways that many hot rodders may never comprehend.

Finally, we’ll be raising money to support our brothers in arms that desperately need our help. By making our presence known, getting the Devil’s Brigade name out there, and showing the hot rod subculture that their fighting men share the same loves that they do, we intend to get this community involved, and make a significant contribution to Wounded Warriors.

That’s where you come in. This journey across the United States will not be possible without your help. We would like to ask your assistance in this endeavor. With your generosity, we will be able to raise awareness for these brave warriors, and get them the help that they need, as they make the transition to civilian life. We can use this documentary, this trip, and this experience as a way to show the world about their sacrifice, and to ensure that all of us are paying them back for the struggle that they selflessly endured.
