Larry's Malibu "All Motor"

Managed to get it scaled, leveled on stands, interior pulled out, roll and the bar removed. Now let's start the weight loss, mini tub, 10pt chromoly cage, front suspension, and narrowing the rear for 15x12 rims with a 3" back spacing....

Only got a few hours on the Malibu today! Had to go to urgent care to get this throat shit looked at......5 hrs later I'm at work, Ugh...

But I did get the frame outta the way to modify and make it easier to cut for the mini tubs..... So until tomorrow!

Got the rear end on the jig, and ready to cut it down! Also got the factory tubs cut away, gotta clean them. This tear apart stage is always time consuming, but it all works out in the end....... see ya tomorrow!

Wheel tubs are completely trimmed out, new inner tubs are mocked up!

image.jpg

Cutting weight and adding some stiffening braces for the inner tub.

image.jpg

The new tubs are slightly higher to lower the car more for better handling down the track.

Axles are out being cut down, time to cut the housing down to size. Next week a lot of the new parts should be here, and then the real fun begins. Modifying the frame for the 15x12 rims, new TBC upper and lower rear control arms, with Strange coil overs. Front TBC upper and lower control arms also outfitted with Strange coil overs. New TBC 10pt chromoly cage.  Last will be the custom built headers!

Jenn and I are up and at it early in the morning for Charlotte for the NHRA races, Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Mods and Pro Stock........ See ya Monday!

Still gotta cut the drivers side, but the template is done! So both should be done in the morning, then frame work begins.....

Tubs are in, a little welding but 90% done.  Rear end is cut down, gotta set the jig, weld the housing ends back on in the morning.

The frame should be cut down tomorrow, should be able to set the rearend and begin building the control arms...... Keep working...

TBC Race Cars Mission Statement

Getting back to what a truly love and missed..... Drag Racing! It's been far to long away from the track. I've built some fine race cars over the years, which has taken time from us going racing! I believe us getting back to the track with our own car will help in all aspects of the business and our customers! So I've made the decision to only do race cars from here on out! I know being human, we all make mistakes, and I've made some! But No More! I'm ready to put TBC Race Cars back in action! The quality and craftsmanship, time mangement, and delivering on time, is going to be the upmost important!

Building a complete tube chassis, upgrade that old set-up or anything else that it takes to make you get down the 1/4 mile is my mission!

I'm here, stop in, let's talk about your next build! Tim Bradham

Jim Brown Lay'n it Down!

Jim Brown Puts NMCA Super Street 10.5 On Warning; Runs 6.36 at just 211 mph in testing

Brown-01Last month Jim Brown eased back into the hot-seat of his 2001 Mustang GT when he unloaded a 4.31 checkout pass at Gateway International Raceway. After battling engine troubles with his 550ci big-block Ford Hemi engine, he teamed up with CNC Motorsports to get it sorted out and ready for serious action. Brown has a ProCharger F-3R centrifugal supercharger bolted to the front of his Hemi bullet and with the engine troubles behind him, Brown was ready to unleash the 2,600 hp we all know that thing makes. We are happy to report that the entire NMCA Super Street 10.5 category has been put on notice after a recent test session at Gateway. Brown dropped a sick 6.36 at just 211 mph (lifted 5.5 seconds into the run) that came by way of a 1.09 60-foot and 4.18 at 181 mph 1/8-mile during the run.
“It actually rattled the tires a bit so it felt like all the other passes,” stated Brown as the excitement in his voice was quite apparent. He continued, “it got out around 300-400 feet and picked the front end up and that’s when I thought it was gonna be a decent run. I never expected a .36 pass and figured it was a high 40 to low 50—maybe. I was obviously pretty stoked when I saw the 6.36.” The run makes him the second quickest Outlaw 10.5 style centrifugally supercharged car in the world, behind another ProCharger front-runner, Doug Sikora. Brown was quick to credit a lot of folks for his milestone run; on top of the list is Ryan Micke, brother of NMCA Super Street 10.5 record holder and point’s leader Mark Micke, Hank Dingfelder, Cliff Williams, Marc Beilman, Tim Bradham, M&M Transmissions, ProCharger, and of course Brown’s wife and family for putting up with his horsepower madness!

Competition Auto 10.5 Mustang

Had to replace the flex pipes that were in the exhaust today, over a couple of years they broke up.. So I replaced them with pipe, alittle harder to bolt it all back up! But at least it'll safe a turbo!

Mike's 1965 Gt350 Mustang

It's been a good bit of time in the making of this build. Being one person, I've been knocking down my list of projects one day at a time.... Down to a little bit of wiring, add fuel and hope to be driving it this week!

And here it is finished!
